"So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being
rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints
what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness
of God." (Ephesians 3:17-19)

Heart to Heart

Trinity Presbyterian Church's Women's Ministry

Dear Sister,

Typically the words “spa” and “stress” do not go together, but for me they do! I recently redeemed a gift certificate for a facial, given to me by my sweet husband. Since the gift certificate was almost a year old (and it was my birthday), I decided it was time for a little “me-time.” I was on my way home from the church office after a crazy-full day. I had about 2 hours alone (very unusual) before Jeff and I were to meet out-of-town friends for a nice dinner. I placed a quick call and was excited to hear that the spa had an opening right then! As I arrived, I realized I would not have time to shower and re-do my hair before dinner. When I let the spa know, I was assured that I would not have to re-wash my hair after my facial and would make it to dinner on time. (Those of you who have had facials are now snickering!) Only minutes into my “spa-moment”, my “stress” level began to escalate as I felt the oily products seeping into my hairline and spreading across my scalp. My tears began to fall in utter frustration, wishing I had made a different choice with those precious two hours; a bit of quiet with my Lord would have been far more refreshing!

Please know that I am not slamming “spa” moments, but for me, in that moment in time, it was the wrong choice. As my life has gotten busier, I have realized that time is my most precious resource and how I spend my time directly affects not only me, but also those I love. My “me-time” has to be far more intentional if I am going to experience the abundant life Jesus offers (John 10:10).

As a women’s team, it is our desire to offer to you intentional “me-time”. We understand the busyness of life and also the pulls of our culture that desire to rob us from experiencing the joy God intended. The ministries listed below may not reduce the appearance of fine-lines as a facial will, but we believe they will sooth your stress and, more importantly, restore your soul. It is our hope that “Heart to Heart” will become your “Me-time”.

Needing Mercy,

Pattie Krohn
